What is Behavioral Safety Services?

It's a service bureau (we are an "application service provider"). We don't sell software, we sell solutions. We provide the SOPA™ software based on our secure servers with our database support, and the consulting support by experienced behavior-based safety professionals.

What is SOPA? Some kind of soup?

SOPA stands for Safety Observation Performance Analysis. SOPA is an internet-based "observation tracking" software system, which facilitates integration of safety efforts at plants and locations that may be widely dispersed. It is viewed through a standard internet browser, as it displays and updates information stored in the SOPA DB, a performance database built on the foundation of Microsoft's SQL Server 2008® on our Windows 2003® servers. SOPA is "powered by" ColdFusion 8.

How is SOPA different than other observation tracking systems?

First of all, SOPA was designed to support the Values-Based Safety® methodology of Quality Safety Edge. Second, it was designed and developed by Ph.D. behavior analysts who are also software human factors experts, so it's easy to use. Third, it is being offered as a service, not just software for sale. As a result, the software is integrated with the consulting services of a group of skilled behavior based safety experts at Quality Safety Edge. And finally, because it is web-based and compatible with recent generations of popular browsers, it can be accessed from almost any internet-connected computer, not just the ones where the software is installed.

Who's using SOPA?

SOPA was introduced to the public in mid-2008 and is currently being used by a range of clients in diverse industries:
